Ontario Canadian Paraplegia Association Presents Bender Consulting Services of Canada with Award of Recognition for Hiring Canadians with Disabilities
Toronto, Ontario--The Ontario Canadian Paraplegia Association (CPA) presented Bender Consulting Services of Canada, Inc. (BCSC) with an Award of Recognition for its commitment to helping the CPA achieve its mission of helping Canadians with disabilities realize independence and freedom. The award was presented during its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Wednesday, June 26, 2002.
BCSC was established in September 2001, by Joyce Bender, President and CEO of Bender Consulting Services of Canada, Inc. and Bender Consulting Services Inc. (BCS) in the United States. She is a national award winner of the President's Award, America's highest honor for furthering the employment and empowerment of people with disabilities, and is herself a person with epilepsy and a hearing loss. Identical to BCS in the United States in mission, BCS of Canada employs Canadians with disabilities to work in competitive careers, and partners with RBC Financial Group to create employment for people with disabilities. BCSC formed a partnership with the CPA of Ontario soon after the company was formed. Like its affiliate company, BCS, BCSC hires Canadian technology and financial professionals with disabilities, and puts them on assignment with its customers in Toronto, Ontario.
Ken Lipton, Rehabilitation Employment Counselor for the CPA, states, "We are very impressed with the way BCSC has followed-up with our clientele. BCSC continues to demonstrate a commitment to hire Canadians with disabilities. I challenge other Canadian companies to follow BCSC's lead in the employment of people with disabilities".
The Annual General Meeting was held at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, Lyndhurst Center, 520 Sutherland Drive in Toronto, Ontario.
